What It’s Like to Work with Mina Mogahdam, Nutritionist

Meet Mina Mogahdam, Evolve’s nutrition coach! Mina offers individual and group coaching to our clients at our office in San Francisco as well as virtually. Read on to learn more about Mina!

About Mina

I’ve always been drawn to the idea that food can be both nourishing and joyful. Yet, for many people, food becomes a source of fear, guilt, or shame. My goal is to help rewrite that story.

I began to pivot my career after a personal health challenge and experiencing the benefits of tuning into my own bodies’ needs. I earned my certification as a Health and Wellness Coach and then went on to become a Certified Nutrition Counselor at Cornell University. I’ve continued my training and education, taking specialized courses around the treatment of eating disorders, ARFID and Intuitive Eating.

I believe deeply in mindful eating, the practice of slowing down, listening to your body, and responding to it with kindness. Specializing in eating disorders allows me to combine my love of food and cooking with a heart-centered commitment to mental health.

The most meaningful part of my work is seeing my clients reclaim this area of their lives and rediscover the simple pleasure of eating!

What a session is like

My approach is rooted in personalized care based around mutual respect and trust. I don’t believe in quick fixes or rigid meal plans. I help my clients tune into their bodies and relearn their own unique internal cues. Additionally, I support them in creating new sustainable habits that foster long-term well-being.

When we work together, you can expect:

  • A non-judgmental space where you’re free to explore your relationship with food and body.
  • A tailored plan that honors where you are in your recovery journey.
  • Practical tools to help you rebuild hunger and fullness awareness, challenge food fears, and develop balanced eating habits.
  • Support for both the physical and emotional sides of eating, because food is more than fuel.

My role isn’t to tell you what to eat and not to eat. I will provide a path for you to rebuild trust in your body and reconnect with food in a way that feels empowering.

Our sessions will center around breaking habits that no longer work for you, and replacing them with new ones that foster a more peaceful way of being. Whether you’re navigating restriction, binge eating, chronic dieting, or feeling out of touch with your hunger, we’ll work side by side to help you feel more connected to yourself and your body again.

I enjoy taking my work with clients out in the real world. In addition to sessions via video or in person at my office in San Francisco, I offer restaurant and grocery store outings. These experiences are a great way to facilitate swift changes in negative eating habits and beliefs.

Lastly, I understand that working with a nutritionist can feel vulnerable. But by seeking help, you are showing up for your health, mentally and physically, in a significant way. If you’re ready to start your healing journey, I would be honored to support you.
